Herati

The Herati rug is characterized by its unique small geometric patterns, featuring a diamond-shaped center adorned with small flowers or rosettes, surrounded by leaves that resemble fish. This fish-like leaf shape is sometimes referred to in Persian as "Mahi," meaning "fish."

This geometric design is evenly repeated throughout the rug, particularly emphasized in the border, maintaining an overall balance. Additionally, there are no specific regulations regarding the color palette of Herati rugs, allowing each piece to reflect the artisan's sensibility and individuality.

Herati design rugs can add a delicate accent to interior design. By selecting rug patterns and designs that complement the main decor, furniture, and art in a room, the overall atmosphere can be enhanced. Especially in simple spaces, placing a vibrant Herati rug in the center can instantly serve as a focal point for the room.

The Herati design has also been incorporated into many other Persian rug styles, including Tabriz, Abadeh, Bijar, Hamadan, Sarough, and Malayer.
